Migrations have always created connections between different spaces and cultures and influenced the development of local environments. With the www.migrantour.eu network, we introduce visitors of all generations and backgrounds to the intercultural dimensions of cities and discover secrets related to migration that often surprise even the locals.

As part of the European Migrantour network, the project "New Roots - Migrantour intercultural walks building bridges for newcomers active participation", co-financed by the European Union (AMIF fund), is taking place between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2019.

With the project, we develop new methods of integration and emphasize the importance of diverse cultural heritages, which are the result of migration. The project takes place simultaneously in ten European cities and four countries. At the forefront of the project is the training of immigrants and refugees as guides through the alternative, intercultural dimensions of cities created by migration. We pay special attention to the development of belonging of immigrants and refugees to new local environments and communities, while at the same time promoting active integration.

In Brussels, Florence, Genoa, Lisbon, Ljubljana, Milan, Naples, Paris, Rome and Turin, we develop activities that:

▪ We ensure the active inclusion of refugees in educational activities and the cultural pulse of cities (through trainings, storytelling workshops, field work, workshops in educational institutions...)

▪ We oppose stereotypes at the national and European level with the help of intercultural learning methods (intercultural walks for pupils and students, youth organizations, teachers, parents, journalists, social workers...)

▪ We are expanding the Migrantour network as an innovative and sustainable model aimed at intercultural integration and education
